Columbia County Library Board Meeting September 13, 2022 • 11:30 am In attendance: Columbia County Library Board • Russell Wilder, Board Chair • Marianne Frye, Treasurer • Tripp Calloway • Marlena Bergeron • Janet Wheatley • Patrick Conley Absent • Stephanie Coghlan Library Staff • Mary Lin Maner, Library Director • Devin Morris, Regional Admin Coordinator Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 12:11 am. Approval of Agenda The agenda was approved unanimously and without comment. Approval of Minutes The minutes from the May meeting were approved unanimously without comment. Friends of the Libraries Checkbook balance = $58,551 Allison Warrick, the new Friends Vice President, joined the meeting today. Allison is focusing on getting new corporate sponsorships for Friends. Friends is in the process of having window clings made for the businesses that sponsor Friends Treasurer Report See Treasurer Report. CD with Edward Jones will be maturing on October 28, 2022. Roberto Marin, Edward Jones representative for the board resigned, the new representative is Ron Lentz. Mr. Lentz will attend the October meeting to explain the options for the CD if the Board chooses to stay with Edward Jones. A motion was made to move $4,550.91 to zero out the negative balance in the reserved account. This money was spent on books in FY 22. ---PAGE BREAK--- County Library Manager Report See Stat Report. Mary Lin went over Summer Learning 22 numbers and discussed the success of CSRA Brick Con. The library will be partnering with SC Bricks again next year for another Lego show. Putt-Putt in the stacks was very successful, next year all three libraries will participate and it will be the Summer Learning kickoff. Mary Lin also provided showed stats on Pre-Covid number to current numbers. We have an author event scheduled for February 20223. Report New Business Unfinished Business None.
