In an effort to maintain the beauty of our City, the City of Cody will begin its tenth season of the Large Item Pick Up (LIP) and Tree and Brush Removal Programs. The programs begin No- vember 1 and will end March 31. The LIP program was enacted in 2008 to allow more time for the Public Works and Parks Depart- ments to begin making nec- essary Spring repairs, as well as time to work on larger pro- jects that can only be done dur- ing the warmer Summer months. Many communities offer simi- lar services to keep their com- munity clear of items residents are unable to haul to the landfill. A few of these communities include Denver, Colorado; Helena, Montana; Bozeman, Montana; and Albu- querque, New Mexico. A fee is often assessed with these services, however, the City of Cody will not be charging a fee for these services at this time. It is our hope that providing these services will aid in keeping our alleys and streets free of de- bris as well as to provide a helpful service to the City of Cody residents. In order to make these programs suc- cessful, there are a few guidelines that must be followed: LIP item pick ups will be scheduled on Thursdays and Tree and Brush pickups will be scheduled on Mondays. Each resi- dent will be allowed one pick up per month per address. LIP pick ups do have a limit of 2 cubic yards per pick up. Items must be placed on the street next to the curb in front of your residence. Items cannot block any other resident’s driveway or impede traffic. For residents who do not have curb and gutter, items may be placed at the edge of the pavement. Residents whose property does not abut a City street may call 587-2958 for instructions on where to place items. All items must be stacked separately and set out before 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled pick up day and must not be set out any earlier than 24 hours prior. If you have a question about whether or not the item you have is accepted (a list of acceptable items is on the next page) please call and inquire. If it is not accepted, alternative methods of disposal will be provided. In the event of a large winter storm or other emergency, every effort will be made to pick up items on the scheduled day, however the pick up may be rescheduled for the following week. Trees and Brush This program will be han- dled separately from LIP. From November 1 through March 31 residents will be able to request the pick up of material less than 10” in diameter. Details are listed on the next page. Special Points of Interest: For Residential Customers only. Only one pick up per month.
