Community Newsletter END OF JUNE . JULY . AUGUST . SEPTEMBER 2014 MAYOR Nancy Tia Brown COUNCIL MEMBERS Donny Anderson Bryan Edwards Jerry Fritz Landon Greer Steve Miller Stan Wolz Questions, Comments, or Ideas... Please Contact: Jennifer Rosencranse CITY ADMINISTRATOR (307) 527-7511 [EMAIL REDACTED] View: CHANNEL 16 FOR PUBLIC NOTICES Or Click: www.cityofcody- wy.gov Raw Water-- Reminder Raw water users are allowed to use raw water on the following schedule until the first Monday in October. ODD NUMBERED ADDRESSES: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday EVEN NUMBERED ADDRESSES: Wednesday, Friday & Sunday Mondays are non-watering days for all. We live in a unique community where an irrigation water system was created to allow residents and some businesses to water yards with less expensive untreated water. This system does not extend throughout the community, so in many residential areas there is a discounted rate for treated water during the summer months to allow for irrigation use. Cody's raw water system is not metered, so customers pay a flat rate based on the size of their raw water tap. The City does encourage water conservation in an effort to preserve the life of the pumping system as well as the nation's water supply. The alternating days of use do not apply to the City and Park County School District 6 with regard to recreation fields, parks and school grounds. Special Watering Needs? Have you recently reseeded your lawn or installed some sod? Users may make application to the City for a special waiver for special watering needs. The City asks that individuals voluntarily water as outlined, but individuals watering on unauthorized days can be subject to the following penalties: 1. First time offenders may be issued a verbal warning. 2. Second Offense - Twenty Five dollar ($25) fine. 3. Third Offense - Fifty dollar ($50) fine and raw water turned off and sealed for the balance of the irrigation season with no refund of the yearly fee. The City of Cody has put together a brochure to assist those who are interested in learning about maintaining a healthy lawn. The brochure is available at City Hall or at the following link: http://www.cityofcody- wy.gov/DocumentCenter/Home/View /222 ---PAGE BREAK--- Summer Roll-Out Customer Yard Waste Collection Program Beginning July 1, 2014 the City of Cody will be implementing a yard waste collection program for roll-out customers.
