All City of Cody Boards are established in the interest and benefit of City of Cody residents. Applicants must be able to commit both time and energy to the boards in which they serve in an effort to make fair, consistent and informed recommendations and decisions for Cody’s Governing Body. The following is a brief description of each board. For more detailed information please contact the person listed under each board. Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board – three year term The Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board (P & Z) is made up of seven voting members and one Council liaison member. The P & Z Board meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at noon in the Cody City Council Chambers. The meetings are televised on Channel 16 for the public to view. The P & Z Board reviews and/or makes recommendations to the City Council on Planning and Zoning items such as site plans, variances, zone changes, special exemptions, signs, subdivision development and a variety of other issues. For more detailed information, please contact Todd Stowell, City Planner at 307- 527-3472. Contractor Licensing Board – three year term The Contractor Licensing Board consists of ten (10) members. One member shall be an at-large member who is either a resident of the City or who owns a contracting business physically located within the City; one member shall be an architect, structural engineer or civil engineer; one member shall be a licensed mechanical/HVAC contractor; one member shall be a City Council member; two members shall be licensed general contractors; two members shall be licensed plumbing contractors; and, two members shall be licensed electrical contractors. A journeyman electrician, plumber, or HVAC installer employed by a licensed contractor may also serve in those Board positions for their trade. The Contractor’s Board meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at noon at the City Hall. The purpose of the Board is to review and approve contractors for licensure, to serve as an appeals board for the licensed contractors, and to recommend policy and procedure as it relates to building and code compliance.
