SUPERVISION RECEIVED Works under general supervision of the Administrative Services Officer. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: N/A ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Performs daily operations related to the management of City-wide LAN/WAN networks; assists in enforcing policies for appropriate use of networks, computers, telephones, email, and applications; assists in developing processes and procedures designed to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of network operations; assists in managing projects related to the adoption of new hardware and software systems. Resolves system issues and provides tier-1 end-user support; performs on-site hardware repairs. Assists in evaluating, recommending, and procuring hardware and software solutions. Evaluates and monitors systems’ resource capacities; estimates hardware and software performance for current and future operations; performs installation, maintenance, and tuning of hardware and software systems; completes various projects involving software applications and Web services; implements procedural changes and reassigns resources as needed to expedite return to service and operational system status. Provisions and configures new user accounts and resources; provides end-user resources training of system resources, software applications, and audio/video equipment; assures technical levels of competency through participation in custom training and/or professionally sponsored programs. Two years of college studies in information systems, computer science, network administration, or related field: AND B. One year of experience performing above or related duties; OR C. Work Environment: Incumbent of this position performs in a controlled, indoor setting. Tasks require variety of physical activities, sometimes involving muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, and reaching. Talking, hearing, and seeing are essential to the performance job functions and responsibilities. Common eye, hand, finger, leg, and foot dexterity also utilized in performance of daily tasks. Must regularly lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Incumbent must utilize mental memory for details, emotional stability and patience, discriminative thinking, and problem solving. Incumbent must maintain a valid Wyoming Driver License and be able to drive to and from City buildings within city limits; occasional out-of-town travel may be required in the position.
