All Concerts in the Park are held in the historic City Park band shell in the heart of downtown Cody. The band shell offers a picturesque concert setting as well as some challenges for performance groups. The City of Cody has installed a state-of-the-art sound system in order to regulate sound production for our outdoor shows and ensure the highest quality experience for all. Performances run from 6:30-8:30PM with the option of an intermission. The City supplies a trained sound technician for each Concert in the Park performance and works with a sound coordinator – Brad of Paradise Studio – who oversees all sound production. Below is a list of specifications of our system. • The Cody City Park sound system is a full range (40Hz to 16kHz) with adequate level to give all persons in the audience a solid intelligible hearing of the program material. • The speakers are mounted to the ceiling of the front edge of the permanent band shell in which you will be performing. The subwoofer is located under the stage in the front support wall • A 16 input Allen & Heath mixer is used for mic/line inputs and is capable of being located 100' out in front of the shell using a Whirlwind snake. In the event of the need for more than 16 mics, there is a 4 input sub mixer that is set on the stage and placed into one of the board inputs through the snake. Typically, that sub mixer is used for drum kits when there is need for more inputs than the house mixer has available. • Sends include a mono house feed and three monitor mixes. The monitor speakers are Community 90x40 and 60x40 that will provide adequate coverage and levels to the performers. • There are adequate numbers and types of mics and stands available, including Shure SM58s & SM57s SM201 condenser mics We also have a number of DIs. If you have your own favorite DI, bring it with you. If you have your own favorite mics e.g. Sennheiser or Beyer etc. be certain to bring it with you. • Move in is easy via a staircase from the ground level up to the stage on the band shell. If at all possible please try to arrive by no later than 5:00 PM for the 6:30 PM show time to allow for set up and a proper sound check can be made before folks start arriving.
