Insurance Requirements Reminds You to Check Your (VIN) Vehicle Identification Number On Your Tag Receipt To Ensure That It Matches Your Insurance Card. No Liability Insurance = No Vehicle Registration Due to state law changes that were effective January 1, 2004, a vehicle's registration will not be issued, renewed or transferred without an electronic indication that a vehicle is covered by liability insurance. It is your insurance company's responsibility to electronically transmit non-commercial use, liability insurance coverage to the State's registration and title database. The insurance company is required to update the State's database electronically if your vehicle is insured or if the insurance has been cancelled. To ensure continued registration of your vehicle, please check the insurance policy. If the vehicle's identification number is not the same as the vehicle's identification number on this renewal notice, please contact your insurance company. If you acquire additional vehicles, check your insurance policy and vehicle registration to make sure that the vehicle identification numbers are the same. ---PAGE BREAK--- Tag Cancellation Please cancel your vehicle’s registration to avoid any lapse fees if the vehicle is inoperable, you are no longer the owner of the vehicle, you are no longer a Georgia resident and currently there is no insurance coverage on the vehicle.
