If you have any questions please contact the Depart- ment of Public Services at 837-6900. Keep a four foot clearance around the brown recycle cart. MONTHY COLLECTION SCHEDULE – Your recycling collection day will not change. Enclosed is a handy magnet with your recycling collection schedule through June 30, 2015. Your recycling will continue to be collected on your refuse day on the highlighted week of each month. If this information does not coincide with your current recycling collection schedule please call DPS at 837-6900. Keep this magnet on your refrigerator or hang near your recycle bin as a handy reminder of your collection week. Please check the City of Midland’s website at www.midland-mi.org for additional information. ---PAGE BREAK--- CART INFORMATION –  Republic Waste has provided one 95-gallon cart for each residence. These carts are owned by Republic and should be left at the City of Midland address they were delivered to if you should move.  These brown carts can ONLY be used for recycling and CANNOT be used for refuse or yard waste.  The 95-gallon cart can be exchanged on a one-time only basis for a smaller 65-gallon cart after October 1, 2010. Please call 837-6900 to make arrangements for the ex- change.  Your recycling must be placed out for collection in your 95-gallon brown recycle cart. The collector will not know you want your items recycled unless they see the brown cart.  You may use up to three of the old 14-gallon green bins for additional recycling overflow, if your 95-gallon cart is full.  If you frequently have more recycling than the 95- gallon cart and three 14-gallon green bins you can lease an additional 95-gallon cart from Republic for $36.00 per year. Please call DPS at 837-6900 for more information.  Your recycling must be placed curbside by 7:30 am on your collection day.  Your recycling cart should be placed with the handle facing your home on the opposite side of your driveway from refuse and yard waste. If it is not possible to place your brown recycle cart on the opposite side of your driveway please allow at least a four foot space between your refuse/yard waste, mail box, tree, etc. and your brown recycling cart.  Please note the serial number of your brown recycle cart. If your cart is stolen you will need to provide a po- lice report with the serial number to DPS in order to receive a replacement cart.  All cardboard will need to be cut down to fit loosely inside the cart or it will become stuck and your recycling items will not completely empty from the cart. Cardboard and boxes placed outside the cart cannot be collected.  The brown recycling carts have a 200 lb weight limit. Any problems with your recycling cart or your recycling service should be reported to the Department of Public Services at 837-6900. Do not stack overflow recycle bins. Cut card- board down to fit loosely in- side the cart. Do not place recycle cart directly under trees. Do not place cart close to mailboxes, poles or trees. Do not place recycle cart next to refuse or yard waste bins. Do not place recycle cart in front of parked Vehicles.
