Justin Woods County Administrator (315) 253-1525 [EMAIL REDACTED] Cayuga County to receive nearly $400,000 for Disaster Preparedness and Counterterrorism Efforts Auburn, NY – Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that Cayuga County was awarded nearly $400,000 in federal funds through various grant programs. The State Homeland Security Program designated $154,955 to help Cayuga County prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism and other catastrophic disasters. 75% of the funding will go towards emergency management planning and 25% is required to be used for law enforcement terrorism prevention efforts. Another $34,719 were awarded through the Emergency Management Performance Grant Program and support disaster and emergency training for emergency management professionals. The County Sheriff’s Office secured $175,000 in FEMA’s Operation Stonegarden grant funding to enhance coordination and cooperation between law enforcement agencies to protect our northern international border. “The safety of Cayuga County residents is our main concern,” said Patrick V.
