MEETING, TOWN BOARD OF GENOA August 10, 2016 PUBLIC HEARING A Public Hearing and Regular meeting of the Town Board of Genoa, Cayuga County, State of New York was held at the Town Hall, 1000 Bartnick Road, Genoa NY on July 13, 2016 Present Lorie Sellen-Gross, Supervisor Mick Piechuta Cheryl Shields, Board Member Paul Wheeler Don Slocum, Board Member Nancy Niswender Brandon White, Board Member Al Board Member The meeting and Public Hearing were called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Supervisor Lorie Sellen- Gross with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Lorie introduced Nancy Niswender to the Board. She took over Bonnie Johnson’s bookkeeper position when Bonnie retired. RESOLUTION 58-2016 APPROVAL OF BILLS On a motion of Board member White, seconded by Board member Shields, the following resolution was ADOPTED Ayes 5 Sellen-Gross, Slocum, White, Shields, Nays 0 Resolved to accept the bills as presented The minutes for the July 13 meeting were approved via email. SUPERVISOR’S REPORT Lorie Sellen-Gross RESOLUTION 59-2016 SUPERVISOR’S REPORT On a motion of Board member Slocum, seconded by Board member White, the following resolution was ADOPTED Ayes 5 Sellen-Gross, Slocum, White, Shields, Nays 0 Resolved that the July 2016 Supervisor’s Report be approved There will be a transfer from the General Fund to the Highway Fund as the County sales tax revenue was mistakenly placed in the wrong account. The August budget review will be sent to each department at the end of August. Lorie asks that it be returned to her by September 9. ---PAGE BREAK--- TOWN BOARD MEETING & PUBLIC HEARING August 10, 2016 Page 2 CLERK’S REPORT Report on Revenues from Clerk’s Office for July 2016 Marriage License $ 17.50 Certified Copies 80.00 Dog Licenses 111.00 ($126.00 total - $15.00 Ag & Mkts population control fund) Building Permits 1432.80 (one permit was fee adjustment to previous permit) Disbursements for June Paid to Supervisor $ 1,641.30 Paid to NYS Health Dept (marriage license) 22.50 Paid to NYS Ag & Markets 15.00 RESOLUTION 60-2016 CLERK’S REPORT On a motion of Board member Slocum, seconded by Board member Shields, the following resolution was ADOPTED Ayes 5 Sellen-Gross, Slocum, White, Shields, Nays 0 Resolved that the July 2016 Clerk’s Report be approved HIGHWAY REPORT Brandon White Had the men work on County Line Hill Road; used the grader to loosen up some material; went over it with the York rake, then rolled it. It is a lot better than it was. The guys hauled gravel for the Town of Niles for a couple of days. We also helped the Town of Ledyard replace a culvert pipe on Fry Road. We trimmed trees and brush on streets in town getting them ready to pave. We paved South Street, North Street and Academy Street. Going to pave Bradley, Maple and Stevens Streets the third week of August. We have begun work on Pete Austin Road trying to get it wide enough for the school bus to use. Matt has mowed most of the roadsides, he is mowing the landfill now. Matt passed his road test; he now has his CDL Class B driver’s license ASSESSOR’S REPORT Lorie Sellen-Gross All my calls are up to date & I will be making my rounds for mail pick up. At this point I am focusing on any Small Claims Assessment Review hearings which will be held at the end of August beginning of September. Please accept this as my report for August. Thank you. Orkin FL# 1 COMMENTS/QUESTIONS/CONCERNS: - Attended 2015 Codes Training on July 12 & 13 at the Henrietta Fire Department. - Attended Cayuga County Planning and Development training on storm water and solar farms - Started a variance request for a lot line change for William Stevens on Shingle Valley Road - Met with reps from APC Towers and Verizon on new Communications Tower. - Continue to work with resident on new projects WATER Sue Moss 3,246,000 - total 104,700 - average It was reported that the wells are holding their own. WATER COMMITTEE Cheryl Shields The Committee will meet on August 24 at 6:30 pm PROGRAMS & GRANTS Lorie Sellen-Gross Twenty-six people attended the Merry-Go-Round Theater performance in Genoa. Sixty-six attended in King Ferry. There were 85 registered children for the Swim Program. Sixty-three was the largest group on any one day. ---PAGE BREAK--- TOWN BOARD MEETING & PUBLIC HEARING August 10, 2016 Page 4 OLD BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS The Board received thank you notes from Frank Sellen, Mercy Flight and Dan Sellen’s family. A postcard was received from E&V regarding maintenance on the heating and cooling system. Al will call to find out more information. There was no impact on the Town of Genoa from the landfill according to the report from Pickard & Anderson. County sales tax revenue for the Town amounted to $151,000 for the third quarter. Lorie will share with Mick some upcoming training on September 21. With no further Public Hearing business, on a motion of Board member Shields, seconded by Board member the hearing was adjourned at 8:00 p.m. Carried unanimously. RESOLUTION 61-2016 APPROVAL OF LOCAL LAW 1 OF 2016 “THE JUNK STORAGE LAW” On a motion of Board member Shields, seconded by Board member the following resolution was ADOPTED Ayes 5 Sellen-Gross, Slocum, White, Shields, Nays 0 Resolved to approve the Local Law 1 of 2016 “the Junk Storage Law” With no further business, on a motion of Board member Shields, seconded by Board member White, the meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m. Carried unanimously.
