Justin Woods County Administrator (315) 253-1525 [EMAIL REDACTED] Cayuga County to Receive $2.5 Million in Bridge NY Funding Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced $2,595,000 in funding to replace three bridges in Cayuga County. As part of the state’s Bridge NY initiative, this money will assist with the renewal and modernization of local road and bridge infrastructure. The Cayuga County Highway Department was awarded $802,000 for County Road 45A (Ledyard Road) over Little Salmon Creek in the Town of Venice and $731,000 for Ridge Road over Yawger Creek in the Town of Fleming. The local share for these projects is approximately $80,000 or The bridges are 36 and 61 years old respectively have surpassed their service lives. After several repairs, they will now be fully replaced with an anticipated 2020 construction. In addition, the Town of Venice received $1.062 million for Tile Kill Road over Big Salmon Creek. “Safe and reliable roads and bridges are key to Cayuga County’s economic sustainability and growth,” said Patrick V. Mahunik, Chair of the Cayuga County Legislature. “We are most appreciative of the Governor’s investment in our communities.” “Deteriorating transportation infrastructure, especially in rural areas, is detrimental to the livelihood of our residents, businesses, and schools,” said Tucker Whitman, Chair of the Legislature’s Public Works Committee. “We are thankful to be able to address this issue with the awarded funds.” “We thank the Governor for his continued support of Central NY and congratulate our Highway team for their efforts in securing much-needed grant funding,” said J.
