Justin Woods County Administrator (315) 253-1525 [EMAIL REDACTED] County E-911 Center to receive nearly $200,000 state grant Auburn, NY – Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced $167,647 in funding to support Cayuga County’s public safety call-taking and dispatching services under the NYS 2018-19 Public Safety Answering Points Operations Grant Program (PSAP) which aims to enhance public safety and emergency preparedness across the state. Public safety facilities, known as PSAPs, receive incoming calls for help and initiate dispatching of emergency services. “We pursue all grant opportunities we are eligible for,” said Denise A. Spingler, Cayuga County’s E-911 Administrator. “We are thankful for these annual grants that are used to offset eligible operating expenses.” “Homeland Security and Emergency Services is an important funding partner to our local E-911 and Emergency Service operations,” said Patrick V. Mahunik, Chair of the Cayuga County Legislature. “We are grateful for the state’s annual support of this crucial public safety function.” “Funding county operations, especially costly technical equipment and upgrades, is always challenging,” said Andrew Dennison, Chair of the Legislature’s Judicial & Public Safety Committee. “We appreciate it every time the state steps in to help.” “We thank the Governor for his continued support, and congratulations to our E-911 team for preparing high quality grant applications that support our operations,” said J.
