TOWN OF NILES PLANNING BOARD Niles Town Hall, New Hope, New York October 19, 2017 MEMBERS PRESENT: Terry Green, Chairwoman Bill Stinson D’Allah Laffoon Bob DeWitt Sara Finizio, Secretary ABSENT: Nate Hatfield OTHERS PRESENT: Noel Byrne The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM. Ms. Green asked everyone to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. Sara Finizio read the September 2017 minutes. Mr. Stinson made a motion to accept the minutes as read and Mr. DeWitt seconded the motion. All approved. NEW BUSINESS: • Noel Byrne presented maps and questions to the Planning Board seeking information on codes and regulations for right-of-ways for the Town of Niles. The Planning Board recommended that any existing problems need to be discussed with the landowners and their attorneys, and any new right-of-way will have to meet State and fire codes. OTHER DISCUSSION: • Ms. Green announced that the Town of Niles Board of Appeals will hold a hearing on November 1, 2017 at 7:00PM at the Niles Town Hall. • Mr. Stinson gave an overview of a meeting he attended on September 21, 2017 titled “Leasing Land for Renewable Energy”. • Mr. Stinson also gave an overview of 2 meetings he attended this month, one at the Skaneateles High School, and the other at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn, New York. Both meetings explored the matter of toxins in area lakes. The next meeting is scheduled for November 16, 2017 at 7:30PM.
