Budget Work Session Meeting October 26, 2016 A Budget Work Session meeting of the Town Board of Genoa, Cayuga County, State of New York was held at the Town Hall, 1000 Bartnick Road, Genoa NY on October 26, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. Present: Lorie Sellen-Gross, Supervisor --present Cheryl Shields, Board Member--absent Don Slocum, Board Member--present Brandon White, Board Member--present Al Board Member--absent The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Supervisor Lorie Sellen-Gross with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Town Supervisor Sellen-Gross excused Sue Moss, Town Clerk from attending this Budget Work Shop to take minutes. Board Members reviewed the 2nd 2017 Preliminary Budget presented to the Board Members, line by line in the general, highway, KF lighting, Genoa lighting, and F-KF income and expenses lines. Budget lines to still review and confirm for the next meeting will be Buildings-for a more comprehensive/solid figure for the GHA heating system. Other line items needed additional configuration are data processing, unallocated insurance, worker’s compensation, new water district expenditures and cell tower income. It was brought to the board’s attention that the south basement door has been noticed unlocked on two occasions lately. Board went into Executive Session at 6:55 p.m. to discuss Employment around the open MEO/Water Operator Position. Compensation was discussed and will be shared with Paul should person be hired and accept the position. Executive Session ended at 7:10 p.m. Supervisor Sellen-Gross informed Board Members White and Slocum that she and Highway Superintendent Paul Wheeler met with an interested and well qualified applicant on 10/24 to interview for the open MEO/Water Operator position. After discussions with the Board Members in executive session, permission is now being given to Paul Wheeler to extend the off of employment for this position that applicant. Paul will contact this person on Monday, 10/31 with this information. With no further business, on a motion of Don Slocum, seconded by Board member Brandon White, the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m. Carried unanimously.
