Better Health. Brighter Future. Good mental health lets young people live their best lives. Let us help you care for the kids in your practice. Half of all chronic mental illness begins by age 14. The importance of early identification and intervention is vital to children’s overall health. Yet there is a shortage of child across New York State. Very few are in rural areas. The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) has a plan in place to address this. Project TEACH is one way that OMH is working to meet the mental health needs of children and families. Its mission is to strengthen and support the ability of New York’s pediatric primary care providers (PCPs) to deliver care to children and families who experience mild-to-moderate mental health concerns. REFERRALS TRAINING CONSULTATIONS Project TEACH allows PCPs to speak on the phone with child and adolescent Ask questions, discuss any concerns, or review treatment options, whatever you need to support your ability to better serve your patients. You can also request face-to-face consultations with child and adolescent for the children and families in your practice. Linkage and referral services help PCPs and families access community mental health and support services. This includes clinic treatment, care management, or family support. Project TEACH can refer you to appropriate and accessible services that children and families in your practice need. Project TEACH offers training in several different formats for PCPs. These programs support your ability to assess, treat and manage mild-to-moderate mental health concerns in your practice. Why Use Project TEACH Services? Teams of child and adolescent and health experts deliver services in each region. They complete all the consultations, deliver trainings, and provide referrals.
