1 Village of Fair Haven Board of Trustees Agenda Meeting April 5, 2018 The meeting began at 6:30 p.m. Board members present Mayor James Basile, Deputy Mayor Walter Krehling, Trustee Judith Dunaway, Trustee Christopher Drogi and Trustee Hope Wojtowicz. Also, present DPW Superintendent Roger Granatiero, Village Clerk-Treasurer Terri DiGregorio and Ambulance Supervisor/Zoning Officer Stan Also present Bill McVea, Jay Sawyer and Carrie Bolton. The Board of Trustees met to discuss the budget hearing and organizational meeting scheduled for Monday April 9th. • Roger Granatiero and Carrie Bolton had received and presented two more quotes to the Board to upgrade the water meters and software that interfaces with the water billing software. The Board will consider the quotes from Blair Supply for Badger Meter, Master Meter and Ti-Sales for Neptune. • The gate for the Teachout Road property that the Village owns in the Town of Sterling, will be moved back and sand bags will be available to be picked up for water front property owners in case of flooding. • Roger Granatiero had been notified by members of the Chamber of Commerce that volunteers would like to assist in the clean-up of the West Barrier Bar Park on a Saturday very soon. Some of the Village DPW employees would volunteer their time to supply labor and a trailer to remove the debris. • Planning Board member, Debra Rose, updated the Board of Trustees on the status of the comprehensive plan that the Planning Board has been working on. Mayor Basile signed the SEQR affiliated with the “Temporary Moratorium on Development in the Central Business District”. • Mayor Basile was authorized to sign the $4,000.00 contract with the Red Creek Legion Band to play at the band concerts Saturday evenings this summer in Central Park. The band requested a $500.00 increase this year which was approved by the Board of Trustees. • There are NYS DEC Urban and Community Forestry Grants available through the Environmental Protection Fund. The Village would need to hire an arborist to perform a tree inventory to qualify for a tree grant to start replacing trees throughout the village. The inventory would need to be done a year in advance. • Presently the Village uses a professional service to change out carpet mats at the village hall and garage once a month. There is a concern that the clerks in the office may be allergic to the chemicals used to clean these mats. The Board is considering purchasing their own and Carol Heagy, who cleans the village hall once a week, stated she would wash and vacuum them. Trustee Drogi will look up the company where he purchased his carpet mats. The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 on a motion by Trustee Wojtowicz and seconded by Trustee Drogi. All aye, motion carried.
