SPECIAL MEETING, TOWN BOARD OF GENOA November 1, 2017 A special meeting of the Town Board of Genoa, Cayuga County, State of New York was held at the Town Hall, 1000 Bartnick Road, Genoa NY on November 1, 2017 Present Lorie Sellen-Gross, (absent) Paul Wheeler Cheryl Shields, Board Member Mick Piechuta Don Slocum, Board Member Brandon White, Board Member Al Board Member Sue Moss, Clerk The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Deputy Supervisor Cheryl Shields with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. GHA wants to get approval from the Town Board to place a small structure on Town property, right at the property line that is adjacent to the Josh and Sapphire Lonsky property. The structure is small and will be hand built to store a restored gas pump. The have submitted a letter of approval to do this because it is so close to their property line. An application for a variance has been filled out and there is a Variance Board meeting scheduled for November 20. The reason the cart is before the horse is that the GHA wants to get moving on this quickly before the weather prohibits doing so. Our next regular meeting isn't until 11/8 so the Board decided to have a special meeting to discuss this. After some discussion: Be it resolved that if the Variance Board agrees to allow this small shed to be built and to be placed in the described area noted on the building permit, the Town Board is in agreement to allow this to be built on the Town of Genoa’s property located at the Rural Life Museum on Route 34B specified on the building permit that was or is being filed with the Genoa Code Officer. RESOLUTION 97-2017 APPROVAL FOR BUILDING OF SMALL SHED BY GHA On a motion of Board member Slocum, seconded by Board member Shields, the following resolution was ADOPTED Ayes 4 Slocum, Shields, White, Nays 0 Resolved that the building of a small shed by GHA be approved. ---PAGE BREAK--- SPECIAL MEETING November 1, 2017 Page 2 Paul asked the Board to review the specs for the purchase of a new truck for the Highway Department. A five-year bumper to bumper warranty is offered. A plow will be added with the total price being approximately $221,622. RESOLUTION 98-2017 APPROVAL OF NEW TRUCK PURCHASE On a motion of Board member Slocum, seconded by Board member the following resolution was ADOPTED Ayes 4 Slocum, Shields, White, Nays 0 Resolved that the Town will purchase a new truck for the Highway Department. A copy of the final preliminary budget for 2018 was handed out to Board members. It will be voted upon during the November 8 Public Hearing and Regular Town Board Meeting.
