TOWN BOARD OF GENOA January 4, 2017 PUBLIC HEARING A Public Hearing of the Town Board of Genoa, Cayuga County, State of New York was held at the Town Hall, 1000 Bartnick Road, Genoa NY on January 4, 2017 Present Lorie Sellen-Gross, Supervisor (absent) Mick Piechuta Cheryl Shields, Board Member Hans Pecher Don Slocum, Board Member Brandon White, Board Member Al Board Member (absent) The Public Hearing was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Deputy Supervisor Cheryl Shields with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Mr. Pecher was recognized and asked the Board why the Town is proposing a water district update and boundary change and expansion. The answers from the Board are as follows: To consolidate the water line and bring in the Special Contracts so that the Town of Genoa has one water district. Improvements are needed to the existing system. The Town needs a better accounting system, a better management system and an asset management system. Mr. Pecher asked if this was being done for the convenience of the Town. The answer was no. The County had suggested the Town have a second water source and improvements must be made for this to happen if it is needed. The Cayuga County Health Department is aware of this project. With no further business, on a motion of Board member White, seconded by Deputy Supervisor Shields, the meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m. Carried unanimously. Susan B. Moss, Town Clerk
