TOWN OF STERLING PLANNING BOARD MEETING January 12, 2015 A regular meeting of the Town of Sterling Planning Board was held on Monday January 12, 2015 at the Sterling Town Hall at 7:00 pm with the following members present:  June Ouellette ~ Chairman  Sue Allen ~ Member  Susan Lemon ~ Member Absent: Member Grover Horn; Excused: Member Vernon Bishop. Also Present: no one. Chairman Ouellette called the meeting to order at 7:09 pm. The meeting was originally scheduled for January 5th but was postponed to the 12th because of bad weather. CORRESPONDENCE Towns & Topics BUSINESS Glenn - Mr. and several members of his family asked about the progress of their filed complaint regarding CNY Scrap located on State Route 104. Chairman Ouellette replied that the Town Board and the Town Attorney, Kevin Cox, were reviewing the files in order to determine any compliance issues and that any discussion or action by the Town Departments would be dependant upon his interpretation of the Town’s Laws. She further advised them to speak with the Zoning Commissioner, Lezli Parsons, for any updates because she had been appointed the liaison for the various involved agencies. Christopher Ferlito – Special Permit (#20.00-1-68.1) A submission package (Mined Land Use Plan Booklet and map; Stormwater Control Plan and map) for a sand and gravel mine was supplied for each of the Board Members to prepare for a presentation at the February meeting. Mr. Ferlito plans to have his geologist and attorney present to explain the mining procedure and answer any questions that the Board may have. The Members began reviewing the materials with particular attention to the location of the site and the location of the property lines in relation to the neighbors for compliance with the dimensional requirements of the Zoning Law. Member Lemon stated that a satellite view with property lines overlaid would be helpful to visualize the 100+ acre property. Verizon Wireless Communication Towers - Special Permit (#16.00-1-58.117 and #19.00-1- 16) Two submission packages with full scale plans were submitted for the Planning Board to review. The attorney, Robert Brenner of Nixon &Peabody, will be presenting the applications at the February 2nd meeting. The applicants have already submitted the projects to Cayuga County for the required 239 Review, a response from the County is expected for the February meeting. MINUTES Meeting minutes for December 1, 2014 were approved with minor corrections by a motion moved by Member Lemon and seconded by Chairman Ouellette. All were in favor without further discussion and the motion passed. ADJOURN On a motion by Member Lemon and seconded by Member Allen, the meeting was adjourned at 9:21PM.
