1 VILLAGE OF FAIR HAVEN Zoning Board of Appeals Hearing January 22, 2015 The hearing began at 7:00 p.m. ZBA members present Christopher Drogi, Susan Stanistreet, Jimmy Kawar and Dave Guynn. Chairman Richard Fernquist was excused. Also present Clerk Terri DiGregorio, Beau Ford and Dan Chamberlain. Chris Drogi, acting chairman, welcomed the meeting attendees and explained hearing procedure. The Zoning Board of Appeals members introduced themselves. HEARING: Request of Beau & Rebecca Ford for an area variance for relief from provisions of Zoning Article IV §150-9 to construct an 8 X 12 shed on their property at 14363 Victory Street tax map #11.08-1-38. The variances requested are for the side and rear lot lines. A SEQR was not filed and not required in this case. Beau Ford explained that he had purchased a shed for storage and had it placed in the corner of his back yard away from his leach field not realizing he needed a permit to do so. Communications were received from 2 neighbors stating they had no problem with the placement of the shed. ZBA members had previously looked at the shed stating it was very nice and nothing further to add. The hearing was closed at 7:06 p.m. On a motion by Jimmy Kawar and seconded by Susan Stanistreet the side and rear variances were approved. All aye, motion carried. MINUTES: The October 2, 2014 minutes were approved on a motion by Dave Guynn and seconded by Jimmy Kawar. All aye, motion carried. COMMUNICATIONS: The Board received and reviewed the Planning Board Special Permit decision for Grant’s RV Park. Copies of SEQR Type I and Type II actions were submitted for review. Training opportunities were discussed. The New York Planning Federation Conference will be held April 12th – 14th. The Cayuga County Planning Board offers training for the 2015 Land Use Training Series. NEW BUSINESS: Susan Stanistreet thought it would be a good idea to inform new homeowners in the Village of the Zoning Laws. Clerk Terri DiGregorio mentioned it could be posted in the newsletter that is mailed with the tax bills in June.
