Town of Venice Board Meeting June 14th, 2018 The regular scheduled board meeting was called to order on June 14th, 2018, at 7:00 pm by Town Supervisor, John Grover. All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call found the following present: Supervisor, John Grover; Councilmen, Stefan McGonagle; Stephen Talcott; Brian Sheils; & Rodney Donald; Highway Superintendent, Stephen Fredrizzi & Town Clerk, Kim Franklin Absent: N/A Guest in attendance: N/A Resolution 22-2018 ~ Approval of Minutes: Motion made by Councilman Donald and seconded by Councilman Sheils to approve the minutes from May 17th, 2018, with a couple of spelling/punctuation corrections. Voted: All in favor Report(s) of Town Officials: Code Officer’s Report: copied to board members, shows 4 permits for May & he presented the New Updated Unified Solar Permit and asked for a resolution to implement same. The Town Board tabled the resolution to approve its use until a few points/questions are clarified. Clerk’s report: shows 9 dog licenses, 1 Decal, 3 certified copies & 4 building permits with receipts of $1,406.38 paid to the supervisor, $23.62 paid to the DEC & $27.50 paid to Ag & Markets for a total distribution of $1,441.00 through May 31st, 2018. The town received notification from NYS & Bond, Schoeneck & King, the attorney representing new business, Drifters on Owasco LLC, of their having filed for Liquor License. Lastly, I’ll be picking up our Dog enumeration mailer from the printer Monday & getting them mailed out by July 1st. Justice’s report: shows 9 tickets with $1,386.00 collected in fines for May (ck #212 to supervisor) & May audit report was reviewed and approved by board members. Assessor’s: June report copied to board members. Highway Superintendent: reports Tile Kiln Bridge received another flag for bank erosion; Myers Road is ground & ready to chip seal; state to pave 34 from Long Hill Road south to County Line Road & Venice & Genoa will take millings; mowing tractor is having some issues so mowing is back up a bit and 2 sanders & 1 controller are ordered. The Supervisor’s: report was reviewed and approved by board members; he copied board on Sales Tax Chart; he received a $3,268.50 mortgage tax check & he’s been notified the 2018 Venice equalization rate is 98%. He & Steve Fedrizzi met with our Work Comp Rep June 14th to review building & grounds. Councilman McGonagle & Donald report the SVL Fire Commissions sent the proposal for the SVL District Split to their attorney for review and are holding a Special Public Work Session on June 26th at 6:30 pm to review proposal. Resolution 23-2018 ~ Audit of Claims: Motion made by Councilman Donald, seconded by Councilman Sheils to accept Audited Abstract General vouchers #161-174 in the amount of $3,494.94; Highway vouchers #079-088 in the amount of $40,447.55 & Poplar Ridge Light at $15.15. Voted: All in favor Resolved that the bills of the evening were presented, reviewed & approved. Councilman McGonagle moved to adjourn and meet again on July 12th, 2018, at 7:00 pm at 2479 State Route 34 in Venice Center and seconded by Councilman Talcott.
