VILLAGE BOARD MEETING AUGUST 28, 2017 · PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Mayor Gary Mulvaney called the meeting to order at 6:59 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Trustees Nancy McGuerty, Gary Fickeisen, Chris Fulton, and Anthony Peppe were in attendance. Village Clerk Anne Riddell, Treasurer Susan Wade, Joshua Marnell, Eva Champion and Barb (Cayuga County Civil Service) were also present. · PUBLIC Mayor Gary Mulvaney asked if there was anyone present that wanted to speak that was not on the agenda. Joshua Marnell stated he would like to mention an item later in the meeting. · MINUTES A motion was made by Trustee Peppe, seconded by Trustee McGuerty and carried with a 4-0 vote to approve the minutes for the August 14, 2017 Village Board meeting. · BILLS A motion was made by Trustee McGuerty, seconded by Trustee Peppe and carried with a 4-0 vote to approve the following bills. · DEPARTMENT REPORT A motion was made by Trustee Fickeisen, seconded by Trustee Fulton and carried with a 4-0 vote to approve the Dog Control Report for the month of July. · GLENSIDE WATER/SEWER DISTRICT AGREEMENTS Mayor Mulvaney reported that there was no news on the Glenside Water/Sewer District Agreements. · NEW METER REPLACEMENT Mayor Mulvaney noted that four new water meters were installed this month. · VILLAGE ORDINANCES This item was tabled until the next regularly scheduled Board meeting due to several open projects that the Board is currently working on. Mayor Mulvaney stated that the review of the Village Ordinances would commence at the next Board meeting. · SEWER BREAK AND FLOODING Each of the Trustees received a copy of two emails updating the Village on the sewer break/replacement on North Main Street and South Main Street and on the NYSDEC review. · WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT TRUCK Mayor Mulvaney stated that a truck has been located; however the truck is larger than what the Wastewater Treatment Plant needs. Mayor Mulvaney suggested purchasing the truck for the Department of Public Works ---PAGE BREAK--- and giving the current Department of Public Works pick-up truck to the Wastewater Treatment Plant for their use. A motion was made by Trustee Peppe, seconded by Trustee Fickeisen and carried with a 4-0 vote to approve the following resolution. LET IT BE KNOWN that the Village of Moravia Board of Trustees resolved to spend funds from the Street Equipment Capital Reserve Fund in the amount not to exceed $ 20,000.00 toward the purchase of a Used Pickup Truck at the regular meeting held on August 28, 2017 in the Village Office, 22 Central Street, Moravia, NY 13118. A motion was made by Trustee Peppe, seconded by Trustee Fulton and carried with a 4-0 vote to approve the Purchase Order to Vision Motor Co., Inc. for a 2010 Ford F-250 Pick-Up Truck for $19,500.00 ($20,000.00 with trade in of 2005 Dodge Pick-Up Truck – STP for $500.00). · CIVIL SERVICE (EVA CHAMPION & BARB Eva Champion and Barb from Cayuga County Civil Service introduced themselves to the Board. They addressed the hand-outs that they distributed to the Board and requested the Board review the open positions (currently not filled) and see if some of the positions could or should be abolished. After some discussion, the Board thanked them for coming. · FALL CLEAN-UP A motion was made by Trustee Peppe, seconded by Trustee McGuerty and carried with a 4-0 vote to have Fall Clean-Up days scheduled for October 7th & 8th, 2017. It was noted that no electronics would be collected for this Fall Clean-Up. · NYCOM FALL TRAINING SCHOOL A motion was made by Trustee McGuerty, seconded by Trustee Fickeisen and carried with a 4-0 vote to approve Village Clerk Anne Riddell and Treasurer Susan Wade to attend the NYCOM Conference in Saratoga Springs from September 12-14, 2017. · INFORMATIONAL ITEMS Each of the Trustees received a copy of the following: - Cayuga County Association of Village Minutes & Agenda. - Letter to Mayor from Village resident. - Email from Cayuga County Health Department (re: signs). - Email from Cayuga County Industrial Development Agency (re: meetings). A motion was made by Trustee Peppe, seconded by Trustee Fickeisen and carried with a 4-0 vote to adjourn at 7:53 p.m. Anne Riddell, Village Clerk
