Town of Venice Board Meeting July 12th, 2018 The regular scheduled board meeting was called to order on July 12, 2018, at 7:00 pm by Town Supervisor, John Grover. All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call found the following present: Supervisor, John Grover; Councilmen, Stephen Talcott; Brian Sheils; & Rodney Donald; Highway Superintendent, Stephen Fedrizzi & Town Clerk, Kim Franklin Absent: Councilman Stefan McGonagle Guest in attendance: N/A Resolution 24-2018 ~ Approval of Minutes: Motion made by Councilman Donald and seconded by Councilman Talcott to approve the minutes from June 14th, 2018. Voted: All in favor Report(s) of Town Officials: Code Officer’s Report: copied to board members, shows 14 permits from January thru June 31, 2018 & he answered the Boards questions regarding the New Updated Unified Solar Permit and asked for a resolution to implement same. He continues to review applications, perform routine & site inspections for new projects. Resolution 25-2018 ~ Approval of New Unified Solar Permit Motion made by Councilman Donald and seconded by Councilman Talcott to approve & implement the use of the new Unified Solar Permit effective immediately for projects, one permit per system even if multiple at same residence, under 25KW. Voted: All in favor Resolved that the Town of Venice will be using the New Unified Solar Permit Clerk’s report: shows 5 dog licenses, 1 Decal & 2 building permits with receipts of $138.88 paid to the supervisor, $23.62 paid to the DEC & $5.00 paid to Ag & Markets for a total distribution of $167.50 through June 30th, 2018. The dog census is under way & going well. Resolution 26-2018 ~ Approved Justice Audit Justice’s report: shows 8 tickets with $1,297.00 collected in fines for June (ck #214 to supervisor) & June audit report was reviewed and approved by board members. Resolved that the June Audit with all supporting documents were presented, reviewed & approved. Assessor’s: no report, she’s on summer hours by appointment. Highway Superintendent: reports the paving is done for this year; oil & stone are next on the schedule; 2 new sanders are here; SAMS Grant (for Morton building) required additional paperwork completed; he’s hosting a Hogweed Meeting with the DEC on July 24th at the Moravia Fire House and he’d like Boards permission to attend the Highway Superintendent Conference this fall at the Turning Stone. Motion by Councilman Donald and seconded by Councilman Sheils approving his attendance to Superintendent Conference. Voted: All in favor The Supervisor’s: report was reviewed and approved by board members. He received notification from NYS Ag & Markets that Fingerlakes Dog Protection passed inspection and he received a Thank You from CC/OFA for the Towns contribution to the Meals on Wheels program and lastly, he had an email from the Town of Scipio Supervisor regarding shared services for the Justices. Justice Quinn not interested at this time. Councilman Donald attended the SVL Fire Commissions meeting & nothing new to report. Resolution 23-2018 ~ Audit of Claims: Motion made by Councilman Sheils, seconded by Councilman Talcott to accept Audited Abstract General vouchers #175-202 in the amount of $8,351.74; Highway vouchers #089-099 in the amount of $115,955.10 & Poplar Ridge Light at $14.69. Voted: All in favor Resolved that the bills of the evening were presented, reviewed & approved. Councilman Sheils moved to adjourn and meet again on August 9th,2018 at 7:00 pm at 2479 State Route 34 in Venice Center and seconded by Councilman Talcott.
