1 Village of Fair Haven Special Meeting – Town of Sterling Water September 29, 2016 The meeting began at 6:30 p.m. Board members present Mayor James Basile, Deputy Mayor Walter Krehling, Trustee Holly Webster-Goolden, Trustee Judith Dunaway and Trustee Pete Hanford. Also present Clerk-Treasurer Terri DiGregorio, DPW Superintendent Roger Granatiero, Carrie Bolton, Sam Colvin, C2AE Engineer Bob Guminiak, Sterling Town Supervisor Randy Lawrence and Sterling Town Highway Superintendent Brian Soper. The Board of Trustees met with Sterling Town Supervisor Lawrence, Highway Superintendent Soper and Engineer Guminiak to come up with an agreement for the Village of Fair Haven to sell water to the Town of Sterling. The Town presently buys water from OCWA for the east side of the town. The Town of Sterling will be applying for a grant/loan through Rural Development to install the water mains etc. and could possibly include upgrades to the Village wells and pump house to service this additional area if an agreement can be reached. Having an inter-municipal agreement with the Village would increase the chances of obtaining the grant. The first phase would serve approximately 80 town residents and the Village would read the meters and perform the billing. On a motion by Deputy Mayor Krehling and seconded by Trustee Dunaway and the Board of Trustees agreed to sell water to the Town of Sterling at $3.25 per 1000 gallons with no Equivalent dwelling unit (EDU) charge and the Town of Sterling will add the upgrades to the pump house in the list of items requested in the grant application. All aye, motion carried. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 7:54p.m. on a motion by Trustee Webster-Goolden and seconded by Trustee Dunaway. All aye, motion carried. Approved minutes respectfully submitted. Terri M. DiGregorio Clerk-Treasurer
