TOWN OF MENTZ INFORMATIONAL MEETING/BUDGET WORKSHOP OCTOBER 10, 2017 Supervisor Nielens called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM, led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and asked for a moment of silence. Members Present: Supervisor Nielens, Councilman Mark Emerson, Councilwoman Barbara Clancy and Councilman Matt Poyneer. Councilman Jeff Mills arrived at 7:45 PM. Others Present: Matt Schooley and assistant, Rick Sawczak, David Nielens, Lucy Ware and Gene Dedrick. Matt Schooley of B & L discussed the replacement of the New York Central Road Bridge over the Owasco Outlet and the project objectives, proposed alternative, roadway width, structural information, work zone traffic control, right-of-way, hydraulics, anticipated environmental classification and anticipated schedule. Mr. Schooley then answered questions and stated that he was available for questions or concerns. Mr. Sawczak stated that the next round of grants would be in the spring and it would cover bridges and culverts. Bob Wallace of NYMIR discussed security insurance, what it covered, such as data restoration and recreation, credit monitoring and other forms of assistance. He then answered questions and concerns regarding the product. Motion made by Matt Poyneer and seconded by Mark Emerson authorizing the Supervisor to accept and sign the contract for Cyber Insurance. Motion carried 4-0 with Jeff Mills absent. Duflo Contract for 2018 – Motion made by Matt Poyneer and seconded by Mark Emerson to authorize the supervisor to sign the contract with Duflo for mosquito spraying up to three applications. Motion carried 4-0 with Jeff Mills absent. Fire Contract for 2018 – Motion made by Matt Poyneer and seconded by Mark Emerson to authorize the Supervisor to sign the Fire Contract in the amount of $92,841.47. Motion carried 4-0 with Jeff Mills absent. Tax Cap Public Hearing – Motion made by Mark Emerson and seconded by Richard Nielens to hold a public Hearing October 25, 2017 at 7:00 for the Tax Cap provision. Motion carried 4-0 with Jeff Mills absent. The board began reviewing the budget line by line making adjustments. ---PAGE BREAK--- Motion made by Matt Poyneer and seconded by Jeff Mills to review the budget again at the public hearing for the tax cap.
