Village of Fair Haven Agenda Meeting April 26, 2017 The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. Board members present Mayor James Basile, Deputy Mayor Walter Krehling, Trustee Holley Webster- Goolden, Trustee Judith Dunaway and Trustee Pete Hanford. Also present Clerk-Treasurer Terri DiGregorio, DPW Superintendent Roger Granatiero, Ambulance Supervisor-Zoning Officer Stan Cathy Byers, Chris Drogi, Jay Sawyer and Tom Hanford • The Board of Trustees met to discuss the rising waters in Lake Ontario and Little Sodus Bay. Due to the Lake Ontario St. Lawrence River Plan 2014 and more than usual rainfall the water level of Little Sodus Bay is higher than normal. Mayor Basile had spoken with Niel Rivenburgh of Cayuga County Emergency Management regarding preparations for the waters of Little Sodus Bay to rise even more. To begin the process, Mayor Basile declared a State of Emergency for the bay front area as of April 25th to establish a “No Wake/5 mph” on the bay. The base flood elevation is 248.9” and the bay is currently at 248.6” which is 3” below the base flood elevation. Signs will be posted around the Village advising of the “No Wake Zone/5mph” speed limit on Little Sodus Bay. • Ambulance Supervisor submitted a list of ambulance personnel noting their special skills to assist in the event of an emergency. • Mayor Basile suggested contacting the Tompkins County Health Consortium to look into more affordable health insurance. Any community in a county that borders Tompkins County is eligible to join. • Deputy Mayor Krehling contacted Congressman Katko’s Syracuse office regarding assistance to repair the west pier as it is deteriorating. The Congressman’s office will contact the Army Corp of Engineers and in turn contact the Village. • Six Ruby Slipper Maple trees will be purchased with grant money to replace the diseased trees on Main Street. The first three trees have been planted in front of the Hardware Café. The other three are on order and will be here by the middle of May. • Cayuga County Soil & Water District mentioned to Mayor Basile weed cutting on Little Sodus Bay is planned for early July. The meeting was adjourned at 8:07 p.m. on a motion by Trustee Webster-Goolden and seconded by Trustee Dunaway. All aye, motion carried. Approved minutes respectfully submitted. Terri M.
