1 Village of Fair Haven Board of Trustees Special Meeting October 3, 2018 The meeting began at 6:30 p.m. to discuss zoning matters and enforcement. Board members present Mayor James Basile, Deputy Mayor Walter Krehling, Trustee Judith Dunaway and Trustee Christopher Drogi. Trustee Hope Wojtowicz was excused. Also, present Village Clerk- Treasurer Terri DiGregorio, Zoning Officer Stan and ZBA Chairperson Susan Stanistreet. 16 guests were present. The Board discussed the following issues with zoning due to past complaints by the Board of Trustees and Village residents: • Camping trailers and RV’s: There are no regulations regarding renting them out or how many a resident can have on their property in the current zoning. All road worthy campers, RV’s and boat trailers are regulated through the NYSDOT. • Dumpsters: length of time to have in yard. • Garbage cans: left out to the road side for many days. • Portable toilets: length of time to have in yard. • Definition of siding: e.g. Tyvek is considered temporary while building • Unlicensed vehicles: no more than one is allowed in the village according to zoning; consideration to make zoning more stringent. • Length of Building permits: consideration regarding how many times the permit can it be renewed. • Clarification on Decks: past practice is to allow decks and stairs to be built to the edge of the bay front. There is no definition in the zoning. • Signage for rental properties: sizes and length of time to allow a temporary sign. • Adequate off street parking when building a new house or adding an addition needs to be reviewed in the zoning. • Construction trailers left on the side of the road for long periods of time needs to be addressed. It was noted the Planning Board is currently addressing the zoning in the Central Business District. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 8:42 p.m. on a motion by Trustee Drogi and seconded by Trustee Dunaway. All aye, motion carried. Unapproved minutes respectfully submitted. Terri M. DiGregorio Clerk-Treasurer, RMC, CMFO, CMC
