November Town Board Minutes 11/14/16 Call meeting to order at: 7pm Pledge of allegiance was said. Mike Wiggins called the meeting to order. Resolutions A resolution was made to transfer $600.00 from the Contingent fund to Municipal for the drilling of the well on Upton Rd. Lester motioned Leonard 2nd. All ayes. Building vouchers were read and a suggestion wads made for the clerk to look for a different format for the minutes. Some clarity on the verbiage was requested. The board will review the notes and offer some suggestions. Terrance had taken notes from the budget meeting and will be typing them up and offering them to the clerk. The Supervisor Report was read. General fund: $309,216.10 Cash reserve, CD: $192,136.46 Petty cash: $50.00 Special reserve, Capital Project: $192,357.52 Money market Special reserve: $60,000.00 Total for General fund: $753,760.08 Highway funds: $218,769.59 Victory Street Lighting Dist.: Cash- Checking: $2,482.44 Cash in time Deposits: $3,195.95 Total: $5,678.39 Westbury Street Lighting Dist.: Cash-Checking: $1993.07 Cash in time Deposits: $ 289.29 Total: $2,282.36 Total for all funds: $980,490.89 ---PAGE BREAK--- It was also made known that $112,000.00 should be coming in for chips in December. Bruce Applebee announced that he will be retiring from his position at the end of December. Rod Shultz was being considered for the open position. His qualifications have lapsed but he still has time to before the position becomes available. An advertisement will be placed in the local paper. Lester motioned Terrance 2nd . All ayes. Safety classes will be offered for all those who missed the recent kin Sterling. See the clerk for details. Notice came from the Planning and Economic Dev. Dec. 1st is a meeting Re: Cayuga Co. Ag. & Farmland Protection agency. The meeting will be held @ the BOCES on W. Genesee St in Auburn. Info is available on the website. The planning board should have received an email regarding the information. There will be a mobile food pantry in Cato November 30th. If anyone knows who may benefit from the service please pass along the information. The clerks report was given. Clerk’s Report: (as of 10/31/2016) 63-Dog licenses =$489..00 1- Garbage Permits =$140.00 2- Records copies 20.00 1-Subdivision 75.00 1-Variance =$50.00 3- Building permits =$155.00 1- Marriage Lic. =$17.50 ---PAGE BREAK--- Beverly Sayles thanked every one for their support of the Veteran’s Day Ceremony. About 65 people were in attendance. She will have a column in the Lake Shore News. Suzanne Fralick was in attendance to cover the event as well as took pictures for the paper. Beverly and the organization is looking for people to attend the next “Honor Flights”. They have recently opened it up to Vietnam veterans. The next trip will be in the spring to Washington DC. It is free to all veterans. K of C is always excepting donations. Joanna Bishop was asked to attend the meeting to answer regarding the boards training or the lack there of. A foil request was made and questions were asked about their training. Her information was needed in the request. Mike asked if the current members of the Zoning Board still wanted to continue on. Joana stated that they all did and it was stated that if that was the case then they needed to keep up their required training. Joanna said she would look into it by the next board meeting. Mike explained the reason for the FOIL request and stated it maybe out of the hands of this office and in the hands of the county. Mike stated he would look into the request and report back next month. Lester passed out the recent waste information as well as an explanation of the findings. Permits will be ordered with the amount of $160.00 per permit. Mr. Craine questioned what types of permits are offered and he was informed that they are only residential. ---PAGE BREAK--- Mike stated that the floors are in need of repair or replacement. Terrance said he would get an estimate for the exact amount but gave a rough amount of $4 per sq. ft. for the tile and $2 per sq. ft. for the labor. He will have an exact estimate by next meeting. Lester suggested that the restrooms should be first before anyone gets hurt. Deb also states that damage has been done behind the bench and repairs are needed. Terrence stated he look at that area as well. Lester motioned for an estimate to be made Mike 2nd. All ayes. Leonard attended the Planning board meeting offered by David Nelson. He stated that it was productive. He stated that he plans on attending others. Mike said he too might attend. Lester motioned to adjourn 2nd by Leonard. All ayes. Meeting closed at 8:05pm.
