Budget Work Shop September 15, 2014 Council Members Present: Eleanor Pittroff Leonard Hand Lester Van Dyke Nancy Sheldon Michael Wiggins- Supervisor Others in Attendance: Stephen Yonker, Victoria Davis Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance. Highway Budget Discussed: Highway payroll will increase this per the contract. This is a 2% increase, it starts in November of 2014 and will increase and will increase another 2% in November and December 2015. The two hour call in pay should not be paid out as over time for plowing call in. Lester VanDyke would like to abolish the position of wing man, because the State of New York and Wayne County do not use them. Eleanor Pittroff does not feel that this is the right move for the safety of this town. The wingmen we have employed are also able to drive the plow trucks when needed. Last years cost rounded up was approximately $6500.00 for the winter pay. Less than what Lester had originally been told in previous years. Steve would like to see increase in summer work to cover rising cost in stone if possible, for account DA5110.400. CHIPS account DA5112.20 money has been increased to $109,210.00. If the big trucks were put on 4 year rotation the will need to $70,000.00 in account DA5130.200 each year to meet the goal. Snow removal Personal Service DA5142.100 account will need to increase due to contracted 2% increase. DA5142.400 will also see an increase to due to sand salt and fuel price will increase. Discussion over coverage for lunch payment when paving roads continued. No decision was made on the issue.
