YEAR END MEETING December 29, 2015 TOWN BOARD OF GENOA The Year-End meeting of the Town Board of Genoa, Cayuga County, State of New York was held at the Town Hall, 1000 Bartnick Road, Genoa NY on December 29, 2015 Present Lorie Sellen-Gross, Supervisor Cheryl Shields, Board Member Don Slocum, Board Member Al Board Member Brandon White, Board member Sue Moss, Clerk The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Supervisor Lorie Sellen-Gross with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Supervisor Sellen-Gross informed the Board that there will be no November Supervisor’s Report. Retirement paperwork has been sent in for Frank. His last day will be December 31. He will be returning to work sometime during the first full week of January on a temporary basis. Jonathan A. Orkin was sworn in as Town Justice on December 17. Lorie met this afternoon with GHA members, Marilyn Mann, Shannon and Mary Beth Correll regarding the GHA and Town of Genoa Open House scheduled for 1/31/16. Discussions of who to invite as “merchants/vendors”, community organizations, etc., more concrete ideas of what the open house will entail, who will take on jobs at both sites, and refreshments. Lorie also met today with Tim Steed, Engineer from HUNT Engineers/Architects/Surveyors along with Jeff Smith and Diana Speers of Municpal Solutions Inc. who are Municipal Financial Advisors. Michele Baines, Mick Piechuta and Mark Conner were in attendance as well. The purpose of this meeting was to initiate the project for which we authorized the RFP, identify those people involved, establish contact information, review draft USDA grant application, etc. RESOLUTION 73-2015 APPROVAL OF BILLS On a motion of Board member Slocum, seconded by Board member Shields, the following resolution was ADOPTED Ayes 5 Sellen-Gross, Slocum, White, Shields Nays 0 Resolved to accept the bills as presented. Lorie informed the Board that there is $3000 left in the Cemetery Fund. It was suggested that a portion of the funds be used to erect a fence around the small cemetery that is across Bartnick ---PAGE BREAK--- YEAR-END MEETING December 29, 2015 Page 2 Road from Maplewood Cemetery. There are cows that graze in the field. Also the remaining portion of the funds could be used to right the stones that have fallen in the Wilcox, Palmer and Sharpsteen cemeteries. RESOLUTION 74-2015 APPROVAL OF CEMETERY FUND DISPERSAL TO GHA FOR ERECTION OF FENCE AND RIGHTING OF CEMETERY STONES On a motion of Board member Slocum, seconded by Board member White, the following resolution was ADOPTED Ayes 5 Sellen-Gross, Slocum, White, Shields Nays 0 Resolved to disperse Cemetery Fund monies to GHA for cemetery repair and fence erection The 2016 Organizational meeting is scheduled for January 4, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall With no further business, on a motion of Board Member Shields, seconded by Board Member White, the meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m. Carried unanimously Susan B.
