PROCLAMATION CITY OF CASA GRANDE MAYOR CRAIG H. MCFARLAND “Fair Housing Month - April 2022” WHEREAS, the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (The Fair Housing Act) and the Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988 ensure full and fair access to housing opportunity; and WHEREAS, April 2022 marks the 53rd Anniversary of the signing of the Fair Housing Act; and WHEREAS, shelter is a basic human need and when shelter is denied, the quality of human life is greatly diminished; and WHEREAS, people must not be denied equal access to and enjoyment of housing because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability or familial status; and WHEREAS, the City of Casa Grande recognizes and values the efforts of those who seek to reduce barriers to full and fair housing opportunity; and NOW, THEREFORE, I, Craig H. McFarland, Mayor of the City of Casa Grande, do hereby proclaim APRIL 2022 as “FAIR HOUSING MONTH” in the City of Casa Grande and do hereby urge all citizens to work for equal housing opportunity in our own communities.
