DEMOLITION REQUIREMENTS Original/Notarized letter from the property owner giving authorization to demo structure if a contractor is applying for a permit. Homeowner acting as contractor will need a copy of the recorded warranty deed and photo ID. The person taking out the permit must be on the warranty deed. If Disturbed area is over an acre, water is within 200ft or if flood plain is on property Storm Water approval is required, homeowner will most likely need to hire a licensed contractor. Photos of three sides of structure are required for Zoning approval Asbestos testing and removal is the contractors responsibility P.O. Notification is required even if there is no asbestos present in the building. If asbestos is present in the building, it should be addressed before the demolition.
