GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SAFE SURF CHAIR USE • Use of the surf chair is restricted to those individuals weighing less than three hundred (300) pounds • An attendant must be present when the chair is in use • The attendant must not undertake tasks which exceed his/her physical ability • At no time, and under no circumstances is the surf chair to be placed in the water beyond a depth of six inches. Weekend service will begin, Saturday May 27th, and daily service will begin Saturday, June 10th until Sunday September 10th. The Beach Taxi’s hours of operation are from 10AM- 4:30PM. The locations are: Wilmington Avenue, Trenton Avenue, Philadelphia Avenue, Gurney Street, Grant Street, Broadway, and Second Avenue. ACCESSIBLE PARKING Accessible Parking is available on Beach Drive at 2nd Street, Broadway, Grant Street, Perry Street, Decatur Street, Ocean Street, Howard Street, Jefferson Street, Madison Avenue, Trenton Avenue, Pittsburgh Avenue, Philadelphia Avenue, Wilmington Avenue, and at the Convention Center. Reservations: • Reservations are encouraged; to reserve a chair, contact the Recreation Division at the Sports & Civic Center ([PHONE REDACTED]) between 9 am and 5 pm • Surf chairs can be reserved for up to 1 week or can be used on a daily basis • Failure to pick up the chair within 24 hours of the initial reservation date will result in the cancellation of your reservation • Both child and adult size chairs are offered ACCESSIBLE REST ROOMS • Public rest rooms are located on the boardwalk at 1st Street, 6th Street, Music Pier, 11th and 12th Street • Public rest rooms are also available at the Sports & Civic Center and at the 34th and 59th Street Lifeguard Stations ACCESSIBLE PARKING • There is No Charge for the parking lot located at 5th Street and Asbury Ave • When parking at a metered space, a driver with a placard or handicapped license plate must put the appropriate amount of money in the meter. This will permit the vehicle to occupy the space for up to 24 hours, and no further payment will be required. • Municipal parking lots do require payment and will provide convenient handicapped parking with lawful placard or handicapped license plates.
