MODIFICATIONS TO THE CITY OF CAMPBELL BUSINESS LICENSE TAX Revenue from the Business License Tax is used to fund basic City services such as 911 emergency responses, police and fire protection, pavement maintenance, and other City programs and services. The base tax rate for business licenses has remained the same since 1982. On August 3, 2010, the City Council approved Ordinance 2132 amending certain provisions of the Municipal Code regulating the City’s Business License Tax. At that time, the Council approved placement of the proposed amendments on the November 2010 General Municipal Election Ballot. Measure M was subsequently approved by the voters and became effective July 1, 2011.
