GREELEY AREA PLANNING Comments received since last Town Hall Meeting Prepared October 18, 2010 Neighborhood Task Forces*  These are important because you can’t have community development until you have a community of people working together  Purpose to encourage neighbors to work with each other and with local government, to create a safer, more attractive and healthier community to live in “Most Important Issues for Greeley”  Greeley School – something needs to be done with this, one idea is for the school area to be used as an interpretive museum for/of Butte  Community Enhancement Health/Safety/Beautification/Animal Control/Crime Prevention  Mediating Impacts from Mining Operations – Air Quality and Noise – any way to assist with home air filters?  Infrastructure Improvements Community Enhancement  Volunteer Patrols – consider how neighbors could patrol and report violations barking/loose dogs, crime, decay issues)  Beautification through landscaping – involve master gardeners, MSU-Extension and residents in beautification projects – one might start with Horse Creek drainage area, have beautification awards (such as Alma Higgens Commemorative Beautification Contest) Quarterly Town Hall Meetings with BSB Commissioners Youth Apprentice Program  To develop good work ethics among community youth  Possible joint venture Anaconda Job Corps, BSB City-County Government  Potential types of work: landscaping Horse Creek Drainage, landscaping Greeley area streets, assistance with yard work for seniors/others Continental – Farrell  View Point Park – “Welcome to Greater Butte” with a trolley stop, information, view of Continental operations  Part of proposed “Butte-Silver Bow Scenic Drive”  Landscaping buffers on both sides of the street (not just south and west) *Ed Banderob has offered to be a contact for anyone interested in forming a task force or sharing ideas.
