These boundaries consist of the original Butte city limits, as well as areas annexed over the years, until the city of Butte and Silver-Bow County were consolidated in 1978. Resolution No. 681 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AN URBAN AREA AND DESIGNATING AN URBAN BOUNDARY FOR A PORTION OF BUTTE-SILVER BOW AS SHOWN ON THE MAP ATTACHED AS EXHIBIT AND ENTITLED "BUTTE-SILVER BOW URBAN AREA BOUNDARY MAP". WHEREAS, after a careful and comprehensive study of the existing conditions within Butte-Silver Bow, it has been determined that a difference in development intensity, population density and living environs exists between the urban and rural areas of Butte-Silver Bow; and WHEREAS, experience has shown that there is a need to promote better animal control, regulate the discharging of firearms, control the growth of weeds and other undesirable vegetation to and to protect property values by promoting greater aesthetic controls within the urban area; and WHEREAS, in order to protect the public health, safety, general welfare and moral values of persons residing and working in the urban area it has been determined that a boundary delineating the urban area is necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY AND COUNTY OF BUTTE-SILVER BOW, STATE OF MONTANA: SECTION1: An urban area is hereby created and an urban boundary is hereby designated for a portion of the City-County of Butte-Silver Bow for the purpose of protection the health, safety, general welfare and moral values of the citizens of Butte-Silver bow residing and working within such urban boundaries shown on the map entitled "Butte-Silver Bow Urban Area Boundary Map", attached hereto as Exhibit and hereby made a part hereof. SECTION2: The urban area and urban boundaries described herein shall be in force and effect from and after final passage and approval of this Resolution. PASSED this 4th day of April, 1984 Urban Area Reference: Butte-Silver Bow Municipal Code Section 9.24.030(F)(1) Regulated Area for the discharge of weapons, the control of Animals and weeds, and for the protection of the general public health, safety and welfare. Ordinance 310 was created under Council Resolution #681 on April 4, 1984. Digital Coverage was created from the legal description describing the boundary of Ordanance 310, the Butte Urban Area, by Butte-Silver Bow GIS, February 2, 1998. Ordanance 310 was amended on September 2, 1999, by the Butte-Silver Bow Council of Commissioners to include the area shown west of Montana Tech; generally the area from the Rocker exit on the west between I-90 West and Bluebird Trail, then north to Oro Fino Gulch Road. and back to the original Urban Area boundary. ORDINANCE NO. 98-14 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 310 AND SECTION 9.24.030 AND OF THE BUTTE-SILVER BOW MUNICIPAL CODE (B-SB MC) ENTITLED "DEFINITIONS;" DEFINING THE REGULATED AREA FOR THE DISCHARGE OF FIREARMS OR BOWS AND ARROWS AS THE BUTTE-SILVER BOW CITY-COUNTY URBAN AREA, AS DESCRIBED HEREIN AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREIN.
