Butte-Silver Bow County (BSB) and Atlantic Richfield Company (AR), as Group 1 responsible parties under the UAO, have been working together and in consultation with EPA, the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, and members of a Health Studies Citizens’ Advisory Committee to prepare the enclosed draft Work Plan. The draft Work Plan satisfies the first public health studies deliverable specified in the UAO. In addition to the Work Plan for support of Superfund activities under the UAO, BSB submits with this letter BSB’s Preliminary outline and schedule for conduct of a Summit Valley air quality ---PAGE BREAK--- 2 study which is included as Appendix C to the Work Plan. The air quality study falls outside the purview of the Superfund program and is not provided to EPA as a deliverable under the UAO.
