BUTTE-SILVER BOW HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Design Review Consultation Property Owners: Ed and Susan Renfro (Bad Beaver Bikes) Property Location: 138 W. Park Street Date of Construction: 1890c (later alterations to storefront) BSB Historic Resource Survey Findings: intrusive URA Funds/HPTA Involved?: Seeking URA funding Eligible for Local Register?: ? PROPOSED WORK Install a narrow cloth awning on a protecting metal frame similar to those recently installed on the Insty Prints building further down the block. The awning will be mounted approximately 9 feet above the sidewalk with dimensions (12 inches high and 18 inches deep, and 14 ½ feet long. The shed roofed awning design will be constructed of weather resistant cloth with pin stripes and span the building storefront above the doorway and below the existing transom area. Refer to attached design drawings and site photos for more information. HPO Review/Recommendations: The proposed awning will be attractive and add historically compatible visual interest to the building and area. I recommend approval of the scope of work.
