Volunteer Position Description: Bulletin Board Artiste Position Overview: Share your creative skills by designing and producing bright, enriching library bulletin boards. Responsibilities • Create a design for your board in partnership with library staff • Put it up • Update or change it Benefits and Impact • Create beautiful messages • Add to the warm environment of our library • Work with very, very appreciative library staff • Express your creativity to a very appreciative audience Training and Support Available • Volunteer orientation • Training, suggestions, and support in bulletin board design from staff • Access to library materials and tools Desired Qualifications • Experience in designing and producing bulletin boards • Ability to use a computer and the Internet to produce graphics • Self-motivation and independent work skills • Good person-to-person skills Requirements • Desire to be a library advocate and serve the Burlington community • Ability to walk, speak, and use a computer without accommodation • Physical health needed to climb ladders, stretch, use scissors, etc. safely • Age of 14 or above • Friendly, courteous and enthusiastic attitude • Reliability. Staff members and the public count on volunteers! Commitment Requested Six-month commitment of responsibility for one bulletin board with updates or changes. Schedule is negotiable.
