Seasonal Help City of Burley 2025 Seasonal Help and Maintenance Department: Water Reports to: Water Superintendent Pay Grade Date: 2025 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Salary Range $12.50 JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective Under the direction of the Water Superintendent, help with all water operator responsibilities and duties. Essential Functions:  Mowing  Weed Eating  Pulling weeds  Clean up yard, picking up trash and other related tasks  Install, replace, flush, and repair fire hydrant assemblies.  Assist in the installation, repair and maintenance of the City’s water system, including water mains, water service lines, water meters, and hydrants.  Perform safety inspections of and operate equipment and machinery.  Report defects and irregularities to supervisor.  Turn the water service off and on as appropriate.  Various other tasks as needed. Work Environment This position primarily works outdoors, in all types of weather, and in potentially hazardous environments, which may involve exposure to dangerous chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is severe to moderate. Physical Demands The physical demand described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires the ability to exert a considerable amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and to stoop, crouch, climb and lift in the performance of manual labor; to operate a variety of tools, equipment and vehicles; to work around electrical equipment in a safe manner. Tasks require color and visual perception and discrimination, as well as oral communications ability. The ability to push and pull with a force of 130 pounds, employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and carry 153 pounds with a two person carry. Work on pipe repairs beneath your feet, perform tasks on equipment 12” to 27” below ground level while lying on the ground Position Type/ Expect Hours of Work This Position is seasonal. This position will start in April and end in November. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, hours fluctuate depending on the season. Frequent evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Required Education and Experience Must possess a valid Idaho driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
