Account Clerk City of Burley February 2024 Account Clerk Department: Administration Reports to: City Clerk Pay Grade 16 Date February 2024 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Salary Range $15.32 to $21.88 JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective Under the direction of the City Clerk. To provide a variety of routine to moderately difficult office support to the clerk’s office. Essential Functions: ▪ Customer Service – In person, drive thru window and phone. ▪ Customer Service – Be familiar with all City policies to answer customer questions and concerns. ▪ Sign customers up for new City services. ▪ Tagging and turning off delinquent accounts. ▪ Receipt money for all City services. (Golf, Library, Building, Swim, Pound) ▪ Balance money daily. ▪ Process checks for the bank. ▪ Pickup mail from post office and process. ▪ Process collections. ▪ Sort and file for all departments. ▪ Order supplies. ▪ Keep office inventory. ▪ Process energy assistance. ▪ General support to the Clerk’s office Competencies: 1. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be continually moving from a sitting position to standing, walking, bending, and stooping. (Up to 80% of the day) Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor when dealing with hostile people. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. ---PAGE BREAK--- Account Clerk City of Burley February 2024 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move from a sitting position, standing and walking to wait on customers. The employee must also stoop, bend and reach. The employee will periodically lift or move copy paper boxes or file boxes. Position Type/ Expect Hours of Work This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Required Education and Experience Equivalent to a High School Diploma and knowledge of basic accounting practices. Preferred Education and Experience Equivalent to a High School Diploma and two years of experience in an office setting. Experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Basic office practices and procedures, including filing and operation of the 10-key adding machine, computer entry, word processing, phones, fax and copy machines. Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar and punctuation. Correct Spanish usage, including spelling, grammar and punctuation a plus. Able to meet special requirements for confidentiality.
