(I.C. 50-203) Friday, August 25, 2023 First day for city clerk to publish the notice of candidate filing deadline using forms supplied by the Secretary of State. The notice must be published once as a legal notice in the official city newspaper between August 25 and Sept. 1, 2023. (I.C. 50-411) Monday, August 28, 2023 Candidate filing period opens at 8:00 a.m. (I.C. 50-410) Friday, Sept. 1, 2023 Last day for city clerk to publish the notice of candidate filing deadline. The notice must be published once as a legal notice in the official city newspaper between August 28 and Sept. 1, 2023. (I.C. 50-411) Friday, Sept. 8, 2023 Candidate filing period closes at 5:00 p.m. City clerks need to keep their office open until 5:00 p.m. (I.C. 50-410) Friday, Sept. 15, 2023 Last day for city clerk to certify the wording to the county clerk for a bond, levy, initiative, referendum, recall or any other ballot question ordered for the November 7, 2023, election. (I.C. 34-1404) Friday, Sept. 15, 2023 Deadline for write-in candidates to file their declaration of intent with the city clerk indicating the office and term for which they are running and affirming their qualifications to hold the office, if elected. (I.C. 50-410 & 34-702A) Monday, Sept. 18, 2023 Last day for city clerk to certify the wording to the county clerk for a bond, levy, initiative, referendum, recall or any other ballot question ordered for the November 7, 2023, election. (I.C. 34-106) Friday, Sept. 22, 2023 Deadline for candidates to withdraw their candidacy by filing a notarized statement of withdrawal with the city clerk. (I.C. 34-1405A) Friday, Oct. 13, 2023 Last day to pre-register to vote for Nov. 7, 2023, election; voters may still register when voting in-person absentee, early voting, or at polling place on Election Day. (I.C. 34-408) Friday, Oct. 27, 2023 Mail-in absentee ballot requests must be received by 5:00 p.m. by the county clerk. (I.C. 34-1002) Friday, Nov. 3, 2023 Last day for in-person absentee voting or early voting, which ends at 5:00 p.m. (I.C. 34-1002 & 34-1012) Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023 Election Day.
