TO: PARMLY BILLINGS LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES FROM: BILL COCHRAN, DIRECTOR RE: REPORT MEETING DATE: MAY 14, 2009 ACTIVITIES REPORT • I joined Library staff and others at the High Plains Book Award Committee meetings 4-8 & 4- 22. • I Co-Chaired the 4-16 Joint Community Library Committee meeting. • I participated in the Library Foundation Board meeting 4-21 and the Foundation Investment Committee meeting 4-27. • Children’s Librarian Cindy Patterson attended a national Summer Reading Collaborative meeting in Omaha, Nebraska, 4-21 – 4-25. • Systems Administrator Dee Ann Redman attended the annual Montana Library Association Conference in Kalispell, 4-22/25. • Redman attended the State Library Commission meeting in Kalispell on 4-25. • Staff of Children’s Services attended a final meeting of the Midland Empire Reading Council on 5-5. Children’s Assistant Elizabeth Fellerer has been elected President of MERC for the upcoming year. • Redman and I attended the Montana Shared Catalog consortium’s spring meeting in Bozeman on 5-8. • Jennifer Kruger attended an archives workshop at Rocky Mountain College, 5-8 • Kathy Robins attended a workshop on the future of libraries sponsored by OCLC, 5-13.
