1 ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 63 Pursuant to the authority granted to the City Administrator in Section 6-201, BMCC, and Section 50-60-301(1)(b), MCA, the following building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical codes and all accompanying appendices, amendments and modifications adopted by the Building Codes Bureau, Montana Department of Labor and Industry, as set out in the Administrative Rules of Montana, as amended from time to time, are hereby adopted by reference, except as otherwise noted in chapter 6 of the Billings, Montana, City Code and except any regulations not applicable to local government jurisdictions. Uniform Building Code, 1997 Edition (UBC), together with the following: A. UBC Appendix Chapters: 1. Appendix Chapter 3; Division I (Detention and Correctional Facilities), Division II (Agricultural Buildings), Division III (Requirements for Group R, Division 3 Occupancies) as amended by ARM 24.301.108 (11); Division IV (Requirements for Group R, Division 4 Occupancies); 2. Appendix Chapter 4; Division II (Aviation Control Towers); 3. Appendix Chapter 11; (Accessibility); 4. Appendix Chapter 13; (Energy Conservation in New Building Construction), as amended by ARM 24.301.108 (10); 5. Appendix Chapter 15; (Reroofing); 6. Appendix Chapter 16; Division I (Snow Load Design), Division IV (Earthquake Regulations for Seismic-Isolated Structures); 7. Appendix Chapter 18 (Waterproofing and Dampproofing Foundations); 8. Appendix Chapter 21 (Prescriptive Masonry Construction in High-Wind Areas); 9. Appendix Chapter 23 (Conventional Light-Frame Construction in High- Wind Areas); 10. Appendix Chapter 31; Division I (Flood-Resistant Construction), Division II (Membrane Structures), Division III (Patio Covers). B. The UBC, as modified and amended by the following rules; 1. CABO One and Two Family Dwelling Code, 1995 Edition, not including chapters 11 through 46, inclusive. As modified and amended by Building Codes Bureau Rule: 1. ARM 24.301.180 through Uniform Plumbing Code, 2000 Edition (UPC), together with the following: A. UPC Appendix Chapters: 1. Appendix A, Recommended Rules for Sizing the Water Supply System is adopted. 2. Appendix B, Explanatory Notes on Combination Waste and Vent Systems is adopted. 3. Appendix C, Sizing of Category I Venting Systems is adopted. 4. Appendix D, Sizing Stormwater Drainage Systems is adopted. 5. Appendix H, Recommended Procedures for Design, Construction and Installation of Commercial Kitchen Grease Interceptors is adopted. B. As modified and amended by Building Codes Bureau Rules: 1. ARM 24.301.301 and 2. ARM 24.301.301 through (ac). 3. ARM 24.301.351 4. ARM 24.301.361 through National Electrical Code, 1999 Edition (NEC), as modified and amended by Building Codes Bureau Rule: 1. Uniform Mechanical Code (ICBO), 1997 Edition (UMC), as modified and amended by Building Codes Bureau Rules; 1. 24.301.170 and and This Codes adopted by this Administrative Order are effective April 24, 2002, and remain in effect until amended by subsequent Administrative Order.
