Report from Friends of Parmly Billings Library 1. The Annual October Book Sale is well in hand, scheduled for 10/16 (Annual Meeting, 6:00 PM) through 10/19. In addition to the usual wide selection of books in every genre and category, the Friends have invited several authors to present their books for sale. Any author who would like to sell or promote a book is welcome. There is no charge, however, the Friends would welcome a small contribution from the sales of the books. 2. The Books For Babies part of the Library's wider program Books and Babies has started as of 9/15 in both hospitals and has been well received by the volunteers at the hospitals. 3. The Friends solicited input from Gene Robson, who distributes books through the Infomobile to resident facilities for retired persons, as to how the FOL could support her program. She submitted three ideas and the FOL has voted to support two of them. Several board members have expressed an interest in accompanying Gene on her rounds and she has kindly agreed.
