TO: PARMLY BILLINGS LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES FROM: BILL COCHRAN, DIRECTOR RE: REPORT MEETING DATE: SEPTEMBER 11, 2008 ACTIVITIES REPORT I participated in the 8-22 Joint Meeting of the Board Facilities and Funding Committees, facilitated by Board Member Shari Nault. Children’s Services staff Cindy Patterson and Ellis attended the Children’s Festival of the Book in Bozeman on 8-22. I joined MSU-Billings Library Director Jane Howell on 8-26 in facilitating a discussion of the proposed Community Library project with a representative group of about 20 staff members drawn from each institution. Beginning 8-27, the Library became a voter registration site, providing voter registration and absentee ballot request forms, which can be placed in a sealed County Elections Office box. The Elections Office will pick up and replace the boxes weekly. I Co-chaired a meeting of the 8-27 Project Homeless Connect Committee. I attended the 9-3 Billings Cultural Partners meeting. I joined Foundation Development Director in co-presenting a program on Your Library and Democracy to the League of Women Voters on 9-4. Senior Administrative Coordinator, Sandy Raymond will attend the Mayor’s Committee on Energy & Conservation meeting on 9-8.
