RESOLUTION NO. 09-1 8837 A RESOLUTION LEVYING AND ASSESSING PROPERTIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTING TOURISM, CONVENTION, TRADE SHOWS AND TRAVEL TO THE CITY OF BILLINGS, PROVIDING FORNOTICE, HEARING AND ADOPTION. WHEREAS, Billings, Montana City Code provides for assessment for promoting tourism, convention, trade shows, and travel to the City of Billings. V/HEREAS, said Billings, Montana City Code provides that the City Council shall fix, levy, and assess said charge on or before the second Monday in August. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BILLINGS, MONTANA. AS FOLLOWS: 1. SERVICECHARGEFORFISCALYEAR2010. The Tourism Business Improvement District assessment for the fiscal year 201 0 is hereby fixed, ievied and assessed against each and every parcel ofreal property within the T.B.l. D. Each parcel shall pay to the City that portion of the total Tourism Business Improvement District assessment imposed annually. The assessment is $ 1 .00 per occupied hotelimotel room night. 2. NOTICE OF HEARING. On Monday, June 8, 2009, at 6:30 o'clock p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be considered on thg agenda in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Billings, Montana, the City Council will hear objections to the adoption of this resolution. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice thereof twice, at least five days prior to the hearing, in the Billings Times. 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This resolution shall be effective upon adoption.
