TO: PARMLY BILLINGS LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES FROM: LESLIE MODROW, FOUNDATION DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR RE: FOUNDATION REPORT MEETING DATE: JUNE 12, 2008 • Food for Thought, An Evening of Great Conversation was a huge success! Sold out event with fantastic feedback. Special thanks to all of the Library staff for their efforts in preparation for this event. The Library looked great- • The new Digital Media Center is in place. The mounted projector, surround- sound speakers, screen, and additional equipment for presentations are in place on the 3rd floor. A 42” HDTV Television and DVD/VCR projector with locking cart will be used on the first floor children’s area. • The 2007-2008 fiscal year is ending on June 30, 2008. New officers will be: Kim Olsen-President, Norma Buchanan-Immediate Past President, Evelyn Noennig-Vice President, Joanne Sheridan-Treasurer, and Cara Schaer- Secretary. New Board members joining the Foundation Board are: Mike Mathew, Kathy Cross, Mary Bolender, Ron Scoles and Dr. Rico Arguelles. Departing board members, due to term limits, are: Ann Miller (who will remain on the Investment Committee and the Funding Committee,) Mary Underriner, Carol Spielman and Stella Fong (who will continue helping with the YPR radio Library promotional spots.) • The Foundation will be making an $11,000 contribution, bringing to date $20,000 contributed to the Library for the 2007-2008 fiscal year. This is in addition to the $1,920 independent film license fee, design and printing costs of the Library’s newsletter and the $11,710 Digital Media System. • Through funding from the PBL Foundation and ConocoPhillips, 8500 copies of the "Catch the Reading Bug Summer Reading List" were distributed to elementary schools in School District 2, Lockwood, Billings Catholic Schools and Trinity Lutheran.
