RESOLUTION NO. 08.18731 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF ALL APPLICATIONS WITH THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION, AN OPERATING ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FOR FEDERAL TRANSPORTATION PLANNING, CAPITAL, TRAINING, DEMONSTRATION, AND/OR OPERATING ASSISTANCE GRANTS AUTHORIZED BY 49 U.S,C. CHAPTER 53, TITLE 23 LINITED STATES CODE, AND OTHER FEDER.A,L STATUTES ADMINISTERED BY THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION WHEREAS, the City of Billings has the power to enter iito agreemçnts with the Federal Transit Administration; and WHEREAS, the Federal Transportation Administration has been delegated authority to award Federal frnancial assistance for mass transportation projects; and WHEREAS, all contraçts for financial assistance wiil impose ccrtain obligations upon the applicant, including the provision by it ofthe local sha¡e ofproject costs; and V/HEREAS, the applicant has or will provide all arurual certiflrcations and assurances to the Federal Transit Administration required for the project. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF BILLINGS, MONTANA: 1. That the City of Billings Mayor is authorized.lo execute and file all applications on behalf of the City of Billings with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Adlninistration to aid in the financing ofall plæuring, capital, training, demonstration and/or operating assistance projects authorized by a9 U,S.C, Chapter 53, Title 23, United States Code, or other Federal starutes authorizing a project administered by the Federal Transit Administration, 2. That the City of Billings Mayor is authorizçd to execute and file with such applications the annual certifications and assurances, and any other docurnents required by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration effectuating the purpose of the proposed projects, inciuding the local share, 3, That the Çity of Billings Mayor is authorized to exçcute grant and cooperative agreements with the U,S, Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration, on behalf of the City of Billings. 4, That the Transit Manager is desigrated to fumish such additional information as the lJ.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Trar¡sit Administration may require in cornection with all the applications. APPROVED this 23rd dav of June 2008.
