RESOLUTION NO. O9-18846 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF ALL APPLICATIONS WITH THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION, AN OPERATING ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FOR FEDERAL TRANSPORTATION PLANNING, CAPITAL, TRAINiNG, DEMONSTRATION, AND/OR OPERATING ASSISTANCE GRANTS AUTHORIZED BY 49 U.S.C. CHAPTER 53, TITLE 23 TINITED STATES CODE, AND OTHER FEDERAL STATUTES ADMINISTERED BY THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION WHEREAS, the City of Billings has the power to enter into agreements with the Federal Transit Administratioq and WHEREAS, the Federal Transportation Administration has been delegated authority to award Federai financial assistance for mass transportation projects; and WHEREAS, all contracts for financial assistance will impose certain obligations upon the applicant, including the provision for local share participation ofproject costs; and WHEREAS, the applicant has or will provide all annual certifications and assurances to the Federal Transit Administration required for the project. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF BILLINGS, MONTANA: 1 . That the City of Billings Mayor is authorized to execute and file all applications on behalf of the City of Billings with the U.S. Deparfnent of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration to aid in the financing of all plaruring, capital, haining, demonstration andlor operating assistance projects authorized by 49 U.S.C. Chapter 53, Title 23, United States Code, or other Federai statutes authorizing a project administered by the Federal T¡ansit Administration. 2. That the City of Billings Mayor is authorized to execute and file with such applications the annual ceúifications and assurances, and any other documents required by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration effectuating the purpose of the proposed projects, including the local share. 3. That the City of Billings Mayor is authorized to execute grant and cooperarlve agreemenrs with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Adminishation, on behalf of the City of Billings. 4. That the Transit Manager is designated to furnish such additional information as the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration may require in connection with all the applications.
